AMC Meeting in Las Vegas

So apparently there was an AMC meeting this weekend. I have to wonder why, since there was no advance discussion with members of agenda items before the meeting via the AML Forums, Facebook, RVC Columns, or even on Grapevine, nor commentary from any of the 21 officers we sent to Las Vegas during the meeting. I did see a few pictures on Facebook of some jolly times in the casino and restaurant, so I know not all the planes went down, which is good.

Hope they all had a nice time and I look forward to hearing what was accomplished.

Well, apparently AML is being sued by a former member for reinstatement. But, for some reason, they are being coy in not actually stating who has brought the lawsuit nor in what jurisdiction. So, it's up to us to try to sniff it out online. I've tried many places (specifically looking at government websites in NY, TX, GA, HI, and MN) and can't find anything. Know anyone with LexisNexis or WestLaw subscriptions who can look this up nice and quick?

Obviously I'm as in the dark as you are. I have my guesses, similar to yours. But then I got to thinking this morning, other than curiosity, why do I, a regular member, need to know? I'm not going to answer lawyers' questions. I'm not going to participate in the decision to reinstate the former member or not.

Sure, it's members' money being spent on lawyers, but actually, I am more inclined to think that the insurance AML carries covers this sort of legal cost, so that money is already allocated and spent. There is nothing for me to rail about in hopes of influencing my RVC to vote against it.

When I was CO, I probably got threatened with being sued at least once a year. Remember, we live in a world where you can sue a restaurant for serving hot coffee.

So yes, I'm curious and I sure miss being in-the-know, but other than that.... . It's probably just Barry continuing to be an ass. Not worth getting my panties in a bunch .
