Results of Gifted Children Motions

The motions all passed.

There is a new position, held by Lisa Webster of Phoenix, called the National Events Youth Program Coordinator. Lisa will be added to this committee.



The name of the committee is now the Gifted Youth Committee. Keri is the Chair of the Gifted Youth Committee. This is a standing program committee. Everyone on the GCPT are all still members of the committee, and their tasks are:

1) Providing support for Local Groups’ youth activities and programs;

2) Developing and disseminating resources for Local Group Gifted Children Coordinators, parents, and teachers;

3) Representing AML with other associations for the gifted;

4) Researching and recommending policy regarding risk management, privacy, and safety issues concerning youth in Mensa;

5) Developing resources to recruit, welcome, and involve young Mensans;

6) Advising the AMC, the Mensa Education and Research Foundation, and other committees on gifted youth issues, including reviewing financial requests;

7) Developing criteria for and administering the Gifted Children Coordinators award program.
